Blonde with Rose Gold Highlights

Q&A with style creator, Demitrik Gorasso
Salon Manager / Senior Artist @ Clique Organic Salons in Kitchener, ON

How would you describe this look?

What I love the most about this look would definitely be the color. Fashion shades are something that most people shy away from for fear of them being “too funky.”

What I love is that a soft rose gold hair color like this is suitable for a wider rage of ages and skin tones. Adding a little pop to your already blonde hair is easy and can still be sassy and classy!

Any advice for someone considering it?

Anyone who is looking to have a bit of pop added to there hair needs to keep in mind three things.

These types of colors can be soft and beautiful but does require maintenance. You are looking at being in the salon every 3-4 weeks to maintain your hue.

What color is your hair right now? If your hair is already light it is really easy to add fashion shades, if not you will need to lighten your hair first before any bright or pastel shades can be added.

Think on it. Fashion shades are not for everyone and that is 100% OK. You have to ask yourself if you’ll feel your most beautiful with any type of color in your hair. Maybe you want a deeper rose gold, maybe you want just a little or a lot more. Your hair is yours and you will always look beautiful when you feel beautiful!

Very Short Hair with Caramel Blonde

Q&A with style creator, Erwan
Hairdresser / Makeup Artist at HairWorld in Sanur, Bali

How would you describe this look?

What is interesting with this look is a haircut that is timeless. I call it a long pixie cut. To add a dynamic haircut, I added a caramel blonde color with babylights and using balayage techniques for this lady.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This style is perfect for dynamic, busy women, or women who do not have a long time to regulate their hair. Just drying with a hairdryer and adding a little touch of hair wax simply change the order.

This style is also appropriate for women who have thin hair at the top, so it will give the impression of thicker above and throw a heavy impression on the back below. Any face shape can wear this style.

Honey Blonde Ear-Length Bob with Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Holly Seidel
Master Stylist @ Blackbyrd in South Pasadena, CA

How would you describe this look?

This is a punky bob. It’s cut straight across with little choppy bangs for an edgy look. It also has a soft, graduated undercut at the nape that shows some off some textured bits at the neckline.

It is cut with a straight razor for a textured look throughout, but there are no traditional layers which would take away from the dramatic square shape.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look works best on medium textured to slightly thick hair. Straight hair or a small amount of wave will look amazing with this shape. If your hair is a bit on the finer side, you can still wear this cut, just without the graduated undercut to keep your hair from looking too thin.

The model in this photo usually just lets her slightly wavy hair dry on its own, for this look but you can straighten or use a curling iron to change up the look of this cut as well. An oval or heart shaped face is the most ideal shape for this cut, although other face shapes can work too since you can adjust the length and bangs to suit an individual face shape.

Textured White Blonde for Fine Hair

Q&A with style creator, Elyse Asher
Senior Hairstylist @ FMK Hair in Wetherill Park, Australia

I would describe this look as textured, lighthearted and fun! My favorite thing about this style would be how the color complements the haircut They go hand in hand!

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

On wet and freshly washed hair, use Motor Mouth by TIGI. Using this thickening cream will enhance your texture and give you a full bodied look while adding a little shine.

Once blow dried and in place, add a bit of Kevin Murphy Powder.Puff on the roots through the ends. This will give you a bit of root lift (without going oily) and a soft fluffy texture to maintain the ends.

Finish with a lightweight hairspray like Kevin Murphy Do-Over powder finishing spray. This will keep your hair place without that sticky hard feeling.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This look works well for clients with fine and limp hair. It will help to create dimension and depths between the texture and length. It’s a quick and easy hairstyle for all types of lifestyles.

I would describe this look as a textured chic look. It is super cute for anyone who likes a shorter cut, but still wants it to look effortless.

Blonde Undercut for Black Women

Q&A with style creator, Angela Craig

This blonde undercut is a very trendy hairstyle this year. What I love most about this look is that the undercut is accentuated with 3D blonding to create dimension and movement.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

When going blonde, it is important to use a sulphate-free shampoo and moisturizing conditioner to maintain the longevity of your hair color.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This hairstyle is so versatile and can work for anyone from your professional working woman to your everyday mom who wants some edge! This cut and color will definitely enhance your style.

Cool Honey Blonde Disconnected Pixie

Q&A with style creator, Tony Stavrev
Hairstylist @ Studio Nova in Astoria, NY

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I would describe this haircut as a wash and go pixie. I love it because you can easily style it for either a rock concert or a business meeting.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

Another reason why I love this look is because it does not require many products to recreate or maintain it. I blow dried her hair for more volume and used a flat iron to create the waves. We finished with light hairspray and a bit hair styling cream for hold.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This haircut is good for any kind of hair. I recommend it for any free-spirited woman who likes change and is not scared of it.

Because of the different lengths and textures, I would say it could work with any face shape. I want my clients to style it in different ways and have fun with it!

Platinum Blonde French Bob

Q&A with style creator, Jessie Liao
Senior Stylist @ Hedkandi Salon 8th Street in Calgary, Alberta

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a French bob with a modern twist. The texture is soft, tousled, laid back and super chic.

My favorite thing about it is how feminine it is!

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I use all Bumble and bumble products in Hedkandi Salon in Calgary, Alberta. I recommend prepping the hair with a good shampoo and conditioner and using the right heat protection prior to curling the hair.

I almost always finish with either the Dryspun texture spray or Sumo Tech wax, both from from Bumble and bumble.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

Every woman can rock this do! What I love about a good blunt bob is that it looks so fabulous, even if you let it grow out into a lob.

Daring Blunt Bob for Straight Hair

Q&A with style creator, Micah Johnson
Master Stylist @ Casals De Spa & Salon in Canfield, OH

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a daring and edgy one length bob.

My favorite thing about this cut is that it’s actually disconnected in the back. The underneath is a fade to slightly below the occipital. I also love that there is a lot of texture within the perimeter.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

This is a versatile cut. You can use a moisturizing oil or a smoothing product to wear it sleek, or you can also use a texture product to funk it up a bit.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I think this look works best for someone with fine to medium density straight hair. It would work with multiple face shapes, depending on where you decide to bring up your length to.

This has been an easy style for my client because she can go multiple days between shampoos and does quick touch ups with a flat iron if needed.

Urban Dirty Blonde Pixie

Q&A with style creator, Mari Kaukonen
Hairdresser / Entrepreneur @ Barberiina in Lahti, Finland

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I love this cut because you can create so many different looks even though the hair is short.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

Recommended products depend on the hair type. On this thin hair, I recommend idHAIR Fiber Mousse.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This cut is perfect for oval or heart shaped faces. You can’t hide anything in this haircut.

I think it’s an urban and bohemic cut for the woman that maybe has a little rock in her.

Light Blonde Blunt Shag Cut

Q&A with style creator, Elsa Mitchell
Senior Stylist / Owner @ Spoilt Hair Retreat in Wembley, Western Australia

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This look is very edgy. The blunt bob is super on trend. I am obsessed with the short blunt cuts at the moment because I think they look hot!

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I recomment Kevin Murphy Resort.Spray and an H2d iron to add a half wave.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This look is definitely for the trendy gal with a lot of edge. It is best suited to thicker hair types, and I always find it looks best on blondes for some reason. Those with a square jaw or round face shape should stay away from this style.

Platinum Blonde Textured Pixie

Q&A with style creator, Jess Cervi
Hairstylist @ Stella Luca Salon in Winter Park, FL

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a platinum blonde textured pixie that we’re growing out into a bob. I love the movement of this cut and how the color really shows it off.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

For products, I have my client using Oribe Blonde shampoo and conditioner, Oribe Imperial Blowout before styling, and Oribe Texture Spray to give it the piecey finish.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This look is great for a lot of hair types. This particular client has very thick hair, but it would work well for fine hair to make it look fuller.

It does require styling, but clients with some wave to their hair could diffuse it with curl products for a great curly look as well.

Beige Blonde Bob

Q&A with style creator, Angelica Meduro
Senior Stylist @ Catwalk Hair & Beauty in Gladesville, NSW

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This look is soft yet bold. The different tones of color create depth and texture, which is juxtaposed by the solid structured cut.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

Start with a blonde shampoo and conditioner to keep the tones from turning brassy, then use a smoothing leave-in treatment followed by a light hold gloss spray.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This look would suit those who are low on time because this is a very simple yet classic cut. The cut suits most face shapes as it is very forgiving. The stylist would simply adjust the length of the bob for face shapes. The color is perfect for summer!

Versatile Blonde and Grey Pixie

Q&A with style creator, Jeida
Hairstylist @ Glamour Hair Salon in Abu Dhabi

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I would describe this look as versatile pixie as it is short graduation from the back and longer on the sides, so from the front, it looks like a bob.

My favorite thing about this look is that it gives nice shape and fullness to the hair, making it easy to manage whether it is styled or not.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I recommend a bodifying mousse or spray for root lift and a bit of volume and a serum to smoothen the ends after styling. Wax could be added if you wish to wear the hair a bit messy or give it that second-day look.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This style could suit any hair texture. With fine hair, this style could add volume and look thicker. With thick hair, the hair could be texturized to take out volume. This lady had quite thick hair, especially at the back.

This is the perfect style for ladies that don’t have much time to style their hair as it is so easy to maintain and style. It’s perfect for ladies on the go.

It is also an ideal look for someone would like short hair but still wants longer hair around their face. It’s kind of the best of both! This cut can also be worn asymmetric with one side shorter than the other.

Textured Ashy Blonde Bob

Q&A with style creator, Candice Ambrose
Owner / Stylist @ Alchemy Hairdressing in Johannesburg, ZA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

It is a short, sexy and fun look with a lot of texture and movement. My favorite thing about this look is that although it is short, it is still very feminine and long enough to style in various ways. No more boring hair days!

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

The must-have product for any blonde hair is a silver shampoo. The violet pigment in the shampoo cancels out any brassy tones and keeps your blonde cool. I recommend Paul Mitchell Platinum Blonde Shampoo as it has added nutrients to keep your hair feeling great.

The second necessity is to use the correct wax. Wax is what defines the texture and pulls the entire look together. It needs to be matte so as not to give a greasy appearance. Always remember a little goes a long way! My favorite wax is Paul Mitchell Firm Style Dry Wax.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

The beauty of this style is that it is suited to every face shape. The graduation of the cut softens the face shape and as the longest part of the cut sits just below the jawline, it eliminates any facial roundness.

It is better suited for medium to thick hair, however, if you have fine hair, do not despair! Your stylist can add a bit more feathering around your face with diagonal bangs for lift, and there is nothing that a good mousse like Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse cannot do!

Textured Soft Blonde LOB Cut

Q&A with style creator, Jessica White
Hairstylist @ Urban Evolution Salon in Atlanta, GA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a textured bob with minimal layers. My favorite thing about it is how versatile the cut is. It can be worn straight for a more blunt, sleek look while showing off a little bit more of the angle in the cut.

When it is worn wavy, it shows off an edgy fun side of the cut by exposing internal layers. It can also look great parted down the middle or with a dramatic side part.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I start with a volumizing mousse at the roots while damp (specifically Grandiose Mousse from Oribe) and I use a heat protectant and texturizing lotion on the mid area to ends (Super Shine Light and Matte Waves from Oribe).

Once dried, I use a 1 1/4-inch curling iron to create a slight bend on the hair (not curling every piece) and finish it off with Dry Texturizing Spray from Oribe. It is a combo of texture and hairspray which is great for giving fine hair some life and body.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I recommend this haircut for someone with fine hair. I keep the perimeter of their haircut blunt which gives the appearance that they have more hair than they actually do, then I go through and dry cut the layers to give texture as well as the body and volume they want.

This look can be done on a woman of any age and can be worn with any face shape. I would just adjust the length a bit to accommodate round, long or heart shaped face.

Chin-Length Ice Blonde Bob

Q&A with style creator, Simone Leigh
Creative Director @ Paul Henri Aveda Salon in Ipswich, UK

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a modern version of the classic bob with hidden texture and a sharp clippered undercut.

My favorite aspect of this look is the versatility. It can be worn either sleek or tousled and with the maximum weight left at the bottom. The sharp styled edges maintain the edgy, up-to-date look.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

Aveda Pure Abundance style prep spray is a go-to product for any look you wish to style as it provides weightless volume.

I use Aveda Shampure dry shampoo for finishing. This provides volume at the roots and can seal a sleek look. Alternatively, it is a brilliant product for brushing out curls to create a carefree, beachy waved look.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I recommend this look on petite face shapes, although the versatility of how it can be styled allows many face shapes to wear it. I recommend thicker hair for this look to take the undercut as it loses weight at the back for easier styling and shaping.

The reason I chose this hairstyle for my client is because she is a busy mom who wanted something edgier to replace the default ‘mom bun’ she was rocking every day. It’s great for busy lifestyles!

Beachy Champagne Blonde Wavy Bob

Q&A with style creator, Misty Limburg
Freelance Hair & Make-up Stylist @ Blended Beautifully in San Diego, CA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a fresh, tousled, lived-in, perfectly imperfect, beachy textured lob.

My favorite thing is its wearability. With all the texture built into the cut, my clients can easily re-style this themselves throughout the week or just wash and go. It requires minimal finishing effort for a highly sought after look.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

Products differ depending on the hair type. Universally, a light styling cream like the one by Bumble & bumble or It’s a 10 Potion 10 are recommended.

After towel drying, the hair can either be air dried or finished with iron work like it is in the photo. After the style is set with an iron, a flexible holding spray like Kenra Professional Working Spray as well as their Dry Texture Spray works well. Bumble & bumble Surf Spray also works great for that wash and go look.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

Honestly, the look is pretty versatile and can work with a variety of hair types/textures. The outcome will vary from a thick, naturally curly hair type and a medium/thick, straight haired client, but either can be beautiful! The medium thickness, straight to slightly wavy hair types are what will give you this exact look.

This looks works with most face shapes, but the ideal overall length may vary from client to client to achieve the best framing. This look is great for those with a sporty and active lifestyle, as well and those who want a great style without a lot of fuss.

Brown Angled Bob with Blonde Highlights

Q&A with style creator, Tatiana Mendoza
Stylist / Colorist @ PR Freshlook Store Tyson Corner in McLean, VA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a soft, modern A-line bob that has been highlighted and toned with a sandy blonde toner to create more dimension on her hair.

I love how the cut and color complement each other and how fun and easy the look is. It is super easy to wear and maintain.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I used Moisture Control shampoo and conditioner and Grandiose mousse by Oribe before curling with a 1 1/2-inch curling iron to create a soft wave. Freestyle Hairspray by Oribe was the perfect finishing touch to this look.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This style is great because can be adjusted in length to suit any hair texture and any face shape, especially since it’s below the chin. This look is ideal for everyone from a high school girl to a working mom to a professional businesswoman. This haircut is very versatile because you can style it smooth or wavy.

Modern Steel Blonde Pixie Cut

Q&A with style creator, Elizabeth
Stylist @ VAIN Downton in Seattle, WA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a modern pixie cut. It is ultra feminine but also edgy. It is one of those cuts that is short, but still allows for different looks.

You can look ultra chic and classic when it’s combed smooth with some shine, or rock the edgy do with some texture paste or clay.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I really enjoy Kevin Murphy Night.Rider for a semi matte strong hold. You can smooth down the sides with it after combing the product through, then piece out the top with a little on your fingers to get that structured, messy look. If you prefer the shiny, smooth and classic look, I really love R+Co’s Motorcycle Gel. Put it in and comb the hair into any position you want.

As far as this blonde level and tone, I recommend washing with a violet shampoo and conditioner to keep your cool tones lasting longer. My current favorite is Loma’s Violet Shampoo and Violet Conditioner. Keeping short hair blonde means staying on top of your root maintenance at the salon. This looks requires you to be in the salon every four weeks.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I don’t like to think of “who should” get what cut or “what face shape”. I think anyone should get any type of hair they want and rock it out! At VAIN, the salon I work at, we don’t strive to be a part of the basic beauty assembly line that seems to be suffocating a person’s freedom to express themselves however they want to. We want everyone to feel good being whoever they want to be in whatever style they love. It is the stylists’ job to alter the look to flatter that specific person.

What I will say is that blondes, cool tones, pastels, vibrant colors, patterns, etc. are all amazing, BUT to maintain them means time and money. If you want to keep an icey, champaign-colored pixie cut, be willing to be in the salon once a month for two or three hours. It’s some effort, but you wear it on top of your head EVERY DAY!

A-Line With Beachy Blonde Waves

Q&A with style creator, Tara Salem
Makeup & Hair Artist @ Rare By RD Salon in Walnut Creek, CA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I would describe it as a slight A-line bob with beach waves. My client has buttery beige blonde roots to end with a lived-in feel, which means that she also has a little bit of a shadow intentionally placed at her roots.

I love how it is both casual and dressed up to give her lots of versatility.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I recommend a 1-inch curling iron and heat protecting spray. I also recommend that blondes use a styling creme with little conditioning oil mixed in.

I love the lines Oribe, R+Co and UNITE. All three of these lines have great heat protectors, styling cremes and treatment oils.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

While all face shapes work with this look, this is best on clients with fine to medium hair as it gives them extra body and texture. This client has fine/straight hair.

This is a higher maintenance look, so it isn’t for a wash and wear kind of gal, unless she has natural texture to her hair. This is a great look for someone who likes to come in every eight to ten weeks for color and cut.

Textured Sandy Blonde Blunt Bob

Q&A with style creator, Haley Nault
Hairstylist @ Hedkandi Salon Bankers Hall in Calgary, AB, Canada

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I would describe this as a textured blonde blunt bob. I love the look of blonde babylights packed in and I love blunt bobs. Combining the two together is just my absolute favorite!

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

This look was done on a finer hair texture. I recommend blow drying Bumble & bumble Thickening Hairspray into the hair. Spray in Bumble & bumble Dryspun to add grit, then curl leaving the ends out.

Finally, finish with more Dryspun layered with City Swept and shake it out!

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I recommend this look for ladies with fine to medium/straight to wavy hair textures.

As for face shape, stay away from this look if the face is already quite wide as the cut will just add to that width.

This hairstyle is quick to style, but you do have to be willing to set aside time to style it regularly. Also, it requires salon visits roughly every eight weeks to maintain.

One-Length Cool Honey Bob

Q&A with style creator, Laura Kelley-Hayes
Director of Education @ The East Studio Salon in Chicago, IL

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I would describe this look as a chic, one-length bob with a soft undercut that has dimensional blonde highlights.

My favorite thing about this look is the juxtaposition between the soft fringe and the strength of the bob, as well as the shadowed root for a more modern blonde.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

For styling this look at home, I would recommend starting with Keune Volumizing Heat Protectant Spray all over.  Then, I would add Keune Design Line Gel to the mids and ends for control and volume, and Root Volumizer applied generously to the regrowth/root area.

Blow dry the fringe with a comb back and forth to create a sweep-y look, then finish the style with an Olivia Garden Medium Oval Brush to give lift (but not too much roundness) through the sides and back.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

Clients that will look good with this type of style are clients with straighter finer hair. Her cut lays this well because she doesn’t have to fight volume!

This look does require maintenance about every six to eight weeks for both haircut and highlights. It is quick to style, but will require some brush work to truly polish. Most face shapes can also work, but rounder shapes will need to be sure the length stays right below the jawline to create visual length.

Honey-Beige Blonde Tousled Bob

Q&A with style creator, Jessica Price
Licensed Cosmetologist / Salon Owner in Valparaiso, IN

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I would describe this hair as a lightly textured, short, honey-beige blonde hairstyle.

My favorite thing about it is how dimensional it is. When the light hits it just right, you get the illusion of both warm AND cool tones.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I use Wella color, so to maintain the color and integrity of the hair, I love using Wella Brilliance shampoo and conditioner followed by Wella Perfect Me cream on damp hair before blow drying. This product helps to tame flyaways and provides ultimate heat protection.

To get the waved look, I used a 1-inch curling iron and finished with Wella EIMI dry shampoo.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I feel the best hair type for this look is fine to normal hair that is straight or curly. It works well for more round faces since there are face framing layers, but works for oval shaped faces as well. It’s a pretty low maintenance look, especially for people with the recommended hair type.

Longer Ash Brown Blonde Pixie

Q&A with style creator, Lucy Saltmarsh
Hairstylist @ Adore Hair Studio in Decatur, GA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I would describe this look as a longer pixie. My favorite thing about it would be how versatile it is. You can style it to look sleek, or you can add some texture to give it a little edge.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

For this look, I used the Bumble & bumble’s Styling Cream for a little bit of lift and hold and paired it with a drop of Brilliantine to make it piecey and add some shine.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I recommend this look to a client with fine hair, perhaps someone who wanted their hair to appear thicker. I chose this for my client because she has a similar square face shape to Robin Wright, who happened to be the inspiration for this cut. I also would do this cut on someone who had an oblong face shape to counteract the length and make it appear more balanced and oval.

This cut is also versatile in the way of maintenance, making it perfect for almost any kind of lifestyle. My client didn’t want to do a lot of styling, which is fine with her thin/fine hair texture. With the right product, she can keep her low maintenance lifestyle.

This look could also work with someone who had a more corporate lifestyle and was willing to style it every day.

Undercut Bob

Q&A with style creator, Tiffani Dougherty
Hairstylist @ Thrive Salon in Cherry Hill, NJ

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is an undercut bob with lots of internal layering. It is best for finer to medium hair.

My favorite thing about this haircut is the many looks my client can create. She often rocks braids, waves, and even cute messy updos.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

I started with Bumble and bumble Prep all throughout her damp hair and added All-Style in the roots, combing it to the ends. This hair is easily styled by blow drying the hair back and forth with the curve of the head. It lays perfectly!

I finished the style with Bumble and bumble’s Thickening Contour Cream to enhance the layers and give her some extra volume.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I recommend this look for anyone with a round, oval or square face shape. It’s great for the girl on the go that doesn’t have a ton of time, but still wants to be edgy and on trend.

Buttery Blonde Pixie

Recommended Products:

Paul Mitchell Wax Works is a wonderful finishing product for this style.
